Taraba Returns to Parliament, Will Work as Independent MP

1. októbra 2026 12:50
Bratislava, 1 October (TASR) - Former environment minister Tomas Taraba returned to Parliament on Thursday after Parliament passed a vote of no-confidence in him and President Peter Pellegrini dismissed him from the post on Wednesday (30 September). The information on Taraba resuming his MP's mandate was presented in Parliament by parliamentary mandate and immunity committee chair Marian Salon (Smer-SD). Taraba, who made it to Parliament in the last election on SNS's slate, will serve in Parliament as an Independent MP. At the same time, Milan Garaj, who had been serving as the substitute for Taraba's unexercised mandate, left Parliament. Garaj was a member of the SNS caucus. Following his departure, the caucus will have eight members, which is still enough for the caucus to continue functioning. ko/df
