Bratislava, 27 September (TASR) - Entrepreneur Miroslav Heredos (44) has withdrawn his candidacy for the post of Bratislava mayor due to serious health reasons. "As a candidate for the Bratislava mayor, I publicly announce that, due to serious health reasons, namely a heart attack and subsequent hospitalisation on 26 September 2026, followed by a doctor-ordered four- to six-week period of rest, I am withdrawing my candidacy," Heredos has told TASR. Heredos claims that he took all available steps in the fight for the people of Bratislava, including various activities, media statements and work to address the current situation. "However, today I must acknowledge a serious threat to my health, and therefore I have to announce my withdrawal from the race,” Heredos said. The candidates for the post of mayor include 29-year-old software developer Lubomir Geci (MySlovensko), 47-year-old Transport Minister Jozef Raz (Independent), 57-year-old economist Zuzana Subova (Pirate Party - Slovakia), 49-year-old two-term mayor of Bratislava Matus Vallo (Team Bratislava, PS, SaS, Democrats) and 51-year-old manager and Bratislava city and regional councillor Martin Winkler (Danube party). ko
