Stats: New Orders in Industry Up 5.5 percent Y-o-Y in July 2026

Bratislava, 16 September (TASR) - The value of new orders in Slovak industry grew by 5.5 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €4.83 billion in July 2026, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday, adding that this was the highest rate of growth seen in the past 16 months (since March 2025). After seasonal adjustment, new industrial orders in July 2026 rose by 0.9 percent compared to June 2026. In the seventh month of 2026, y-o-y increases were recorded in eight of the 12 industrial sectors monitored on a monthly basis. The overall development was most significantly affected by y-o-y growth in orders in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (up by 14.3 percent), in the manufacture of machinery and equipment not classified elsewhere (20.5 percent), and in the manufacture of metal structures excluding machinery and equipment (1.7 percent). Conversely, y-o-y declines in orders were primarily seen in the production of computer, electronic and optical products (down by 58.8 percent), in the production and processing of metals (5.1 percent), and in the manufacture of electrical equipment (5.3 percent). jrg
