Agricultural Revenues Rose by 10.3 percent Last Year to €4.388 billion

Bratislava, 12 September (TASR) - Total revenues in the Slovak agricultural sector stood at €4.388 billion in 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 10.3 percent, according to the so-called Green Report on Agriculture and the Food Industry for 2025, produced by the Agriculture Ministry, which was discussed and approved by the government at its session this week. Costs amounted to €4.244 billion, with their growth (9.7 percent) being slightly slower than that of revenues. As a result, cost profitability improved to 3.4 percent, and the cost-to-revenue ratio fell to 96.7 percent. "The decisive cost item for agricultural enterprises was the cost of inputs - that is, the consumption of materials and energy - which accounted for 34 percent of total costs," stated the ministry. The Agriculture Ministry noted that the structure of costs relating to the consumption of materials and energy depends on a farm's production focus, with farms specialising in livestock production generally accounting for a higher proportion of these costs. According to the report, in 2025, revenues from own products accounted for 53.5 percent of the total revenues of enterprises, amounting to €2.347 billion, 3.9 percent more than in 2024. The growth in revenues was driven primarily by livestock production. The Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry added that the average profit of agricultural entities (natural persons and legal entities) engaged in primary agricultural production under normal operating conditions stood at €85.79 per hectare of agricultural land. am/df/mf
