Fire Under Control in Strane pod Tatrami, Firefighters Continue Work

Strane pod Tatrami/Bratislava, 9 September (TASR) - Firefighters have managed to bring under control a vegetation fire in the land area of Strane pod Tatrami (Presov region), an operations officer from the Presov Regional Directorate of the Firefighter and Rescue Corps confirmed to TASR on Wednesday. The officer added that work to fully extinguish the fire is still under way. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at around 9.30 a.m. The fire affected several parts of an area measuring approximately 200 by 300 metres and spread through the root systems and tree canopies. During the day, professional and volunteer firefighters were joined at the scene by a helicopter and the East ground firefighting module. mf
