Pellegrini Supports Germany Following Drone Incident Allegedly Linked to Russia

Bratislava, 2 September (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini expressed full solidarity with Germany following the August drone incident at Leipzig Airport, which German authorities say was linked to Russia, TASR reported on Wednesday based on Pellegrini's post published on social media platform X. "Attempts to intimidate our democracies or divide Allies will not succeed. The security of our Allies is the security of us all. We remain steadfast, united and committed to credible deterrence in defence of our citizens and our shared security," stated Pellegrini. On Tuesday evening, the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry also strongly condemned the drone incident, stating that such forms of hybrid threats undermine security and "weaken any efforts aimed at fostering peaceful dialogue". jrg/mcs
