President Pellegrini Departs for Slovenia for Bled Strategic Forum

Bratislava, 31 August (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini left for Slovenia on Monday morning to attend the Bled Strategic Forum, which this year will focus on the future of Europe, the President's Office told TASR on Monday, adding that as part of his one-day working visit, Pellegrini will speak on the presidential panel and hold a series of bilateral meetings. The main theme of the 21st year of the forum is 'The Power to Shape the Future'. The two-day conference will address growing geopolitical uncertainty, shifting power dynamics and Europe's role in shaping its own future. Pellegrini will be the first Slovak head of state to attend the forum. In previous years, the country was primarily represented by the foreign affairs minister, and on rare occasions by the premier. According to the President's Office, Pellegrini will take part in a moderated discussion with Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar on the position and significance of Central Europe, pragmatic cooperation with countries outside the European Union, and artificial intelligence. Pellegrini will also hold bilateral meetings with Pirc Musar, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa and head of the Slovenian Parliament Zoran Stevanovic. Other confirmed participants at the Bled Forum include Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Hungarian Premier Peter Magyar and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. am/df
