Police Charge Four Young Men with Attack on Indian Student in Nitra

Nitra, 21 August (TASR) - In connection with the recent attack on an Indian student in Nitra, four young men have been charged with the crime of bodily harm committed with the specific motive of hatred due to race or nationality and the offence of disorderly conduct, TASR has learnt from Nitra police spokesperson Tomas Havetta.
He added that officers from the Criminal Police Department of the Nitra Region Police Directorate continue to work on the case.
"In view of the ongoing procedures, no further details can be provided at this stage. Information about further developments will be published as soon as the procedural situation allows," said the spokesman.
The attack, after which the student from India ended up in hospital and had to undergo surgery, took place on the embankment of the Nitra River on 1 August. The juveniles were detained by police on Thursday (20 August) during an operation codenamed 'Prejudice'.
