EMS: First-responders in Bratislava Record Several Weather-related Injuries

Bratislava, 20 August (TASR) - The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Operations Centre has recorded several people injured in Bratislava as a result of adverse weather conditions, Petra Klimesova from the operations centre told TASR on Thursday.
"The Emergency Medical Service Operations Centre has recorded several ambulance call-outs to people injured as a result of the weather. Operations are still ongoing," she told TASR.
According to initial reports, for example, several people are believed to have been injured after a roof collapsed in Bratislava's borough of Podunajske Biskupice, and a child is reported to have been injured in Ruzinov borough after a tree fell onto a car. According to TASR, the injuries are believed to be minor.
A storm hit Bratislava on Thursday evening. Several boroughs are reporting damage. The storm caused fallen trees and branches, fences that had collapsed or been blown down, damaged cars, and locally flooded and impassable roads. The highest number of reports came from Bratislava's borough of Petrzalka. Firefighters confirmed to TASR that, as a result of the adverse weather, they are recording an increased number of call-outs in Bratislava region.
