Bratislava, 19 August (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini in July ratified a social-security agreement between Slovakia and Moldova concerning the coordination of pension entitlements for people who have worked or been insured in one or both countries during their lifetimes, according to information published on the president's website. In the case of Slovakia, this applies in particular to benefits from the social-insurance system, such as old-age pensions, disability pensions, and pensions for widows/widowers and orphans. On the Moldovan side, the agreement covers legislation governing old-age pensions, pensions for disability caused by illness, pensions and benefits for accidents at work or occupational diseases, and survivors' pensions. The agreement also applies to people who are or have been subject to the legislation of one or both countries, as well as to their family members and survivors. They will be entitled to benefits under the same conditions as citizens of the country in which they claim their entitlement. am/df
