Police Charge 20-year-old Man over Young Woman's Death in Stara Lubovna

Stara Lubovna, 19 August (TASR) - Following the death of a young woman in the town of Stara Lubovna (Presov region), the police have charged a 20-year-old man with murder, the Presov Regional Police Directorate posted on social media on Wednesday. The body of a 17-year-old girl, showing no signs of life, was found on Monday morning (17 August) by employees of the town's municipal services in one of the local housing estates. On Tuesday (18 August), the police confirmed that the victim had died a violent death and also reported that they had detained a suspect late on Monday evening. "The police immediately began investigating the case intensively. Within a short time, they carried out the necessary procedural steps and secured evidence to help clarify the circumstances of the incident. Based on the evidence gathered, an investigator from the Criminal Police Department of the Presov Regional Police Headquarters charged a 20-year-old man from Sabinov district (Presov region) with the serious crime of murder," stated the police. The investigator also prepared a motion for the accused to be remanded in custody. The police are continuing to work intensively on the case. am
