Bratislava, 18 August (TASR) - The Defence Ministry has placed an order for 20 Skoda Kodiaq SUVs worth more than €871,000 (ex-VAT) in two performance classes, with two cars boasting 195 kilowatts of power and the remaining 18 providing 142 kilowatts, TASR has learnt from a contract published by the Defence Ministry in the central register.
The vehicle specifications indicate that the ministry might assign the lower-powered cars to the gendarmerie, as suggested by the description of the required vehicle wrap consisting of yellow and green stripes along with a seven-letter sign. Based on available photographs, such a vehicle type is used by the gendarmerie to carry out their official duties. All the cars will also feature audible and visual warning devices.
The unit price of the lower-powered cars is just over €43,100 excl. VAT, while the more powerful ones cost just under €47,790, with both versions featuring cruise control, automated windscreen wipers, and a separate set of winter tyres on rims.
The vehicles are to be supplied to the ministry by a company called Impa Bratislava within five months of the contract taking effect, i.e. roughly by mid-January 2027.
