Police Track Down and Detain Suspect over Young Woman's Death in Stara Lubovna

Stara Lubovna, 18 August (TASR) - Police have tracked down and detained a suspect in connection with the death of a woman, who was found with no signs of life in the town of Stara Lubovna (Presov region) on Monday (17 August) morning, the Presov Region Police Directorate confirmed on social media, adding that the victim died a violent death. The woman's body was found shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday in one of the housing estates in Stara Lubovna. According to media reports, she was a 17-year-old girl who had been missing since Saturday (15 August). "Based on the autopsy results, her death was caused by violence. The suspect was tracked down and detained by police officers late in the evening," stated the police. According to available information, she was found in the early morning hours by employees of the town's municipal services. "It is with deep sorrow that we received the news of the tragic death of a 17-year-old girl in Stara Lubovna. At this incredibly difficult time, we extend our sincere condolences to the family and all those close to her. We have also offered help and support to the family," Stara Lubovna Mayor Lubos Tomko stated on social media. jrg
