Stats Office: New Orders in Industry Up 3 percent Y-o-Y in June 2026

Bratislava, 17 August (TASR) - The value of new orders in Slovak industry grew by 3 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €5.86 billion in June 2026, the Statistics Office reported on Monday, adding that this was the fist increase seen since September 2025. After seasonal adjustment, new industrial orders in June rose by 0.5 percent compared to May 2026. Nine of the 12 monitored industrial sectors posted y-o-y increases in volumes of orders in the sixth month of 2026. The overall development was most significantly affected by y-o-y growth in orders in the production of machinery and equipment not classified elsewhere (up by 24.9 percent), in the production of other transport equipment (57.7 percent), and in the production of chemicals and chemical products (16.1 percent). Conversely, orders saw a y-o-y drops in the production of computer, electronic and optical products (down by 30.1 percent), in the manufacture of metal structures excluding machinery and equipment (1 percent), and in the textile production (by 3.9 percent). ko
