Police Launch Operation 'Vendor' Over Illegal Arms Trading

Bratislava, 13 August (TASR) - The Office for Fight Against Organised Crime (UBOK) of the Police Presidium has been conducting an operation codenamed Vendor since Wednesday (12 August) over suspicions of the illegal possession and trafficking of firearms. Several suspects have been detained as part of the operation, TASR was informed by Police Presidium spokesperson Lea Vilhanova on Thursday. Several house searches, as well as searches of other premises and land, were carried out as part of the operation. "Due to ongoing procedural steps, it is not possible to provide further information at this time. We will provide information on further action once the procedural situation allows," Vilhanova added. mf
