Kosice Prosecutor Charges Ukrainian with Extremism, Specialised Court to Rule

Kosice, 12 August (TASR) - A prosecutor from Kosice Region Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment for extremism with the Specialised Criminal Court (STS) in Pezinok (Bratislava region), the regional prosecutor's office spokesperson Jarmila Janova has informed TASR.
She specified that the person charged is a Ukrainian national who was carrying extremist symbols referring to Nazi ideology in his backpack, as well as visibly attached to it, when entering Slovakia at a border crossing in February.
The case concerns the criminal offences of expressing sympathy for a movement aimed at suppressing fundamental rights and freedoms and possessing extremist material.
"If found guilty, the person charged faces a prison sentence of up to three years," said Janova.
