UDZS: All Three Health-insurers Ended 1H26 in Black

Bratislava, 12 August (TASR) - All of the three health-insurance companies operating in Slovakia ended the first half of this year in the black, the Health-care Supervisory Office (UDZS) reported on Wednesday. According to preliminary results, state-run health-insurer VsZP ended the first half of the year with a profit of €2.5 million, private health-insurer Dovera recorded a profit amounting to €9.6 million, while another private health-insurer, Union zdravotna poistovna (ZP), made a profit of €1.3 million. The equity capital of VsZP amounted to €83.9 million, while that of Dovera stood at €214.8 million and that of Union ZP at €49.3 million at the end of June. "The equity capital of health-insurers VsZP and Union ZP changed when compared to the end of 2025 only in terms of the achieved financial results (profit or loss) for the first six months of 2026. Concerning Dovera, the change in equity capital was also affected by the payment of €30.3 million in dividends to its shareholder in April 2026," said UDZS. UDZS noted that all the health-insurance companies met the minimum equity requirement under the law. At the same time, they met the the solvency requirements and are settling their obligations to health-care providers in line with the requirements set by law. ko/df
