Bratislava, 10 August (TASR) - Prosecutor-General (PG) Maros Zilinka has posted on social media that he received representatives of police and doctors trade unions on Monday.
Zilinka held talks with Police Trade Union (OZP) chairman Peter Jakubik followed by a meeting with Doctors Trade Union Association (LOZ) chair Peter Visolajsky.
The talks with the OZP representatives focused on issues concerning the civil service of members of the Police Corps in the context of protecting their rights with relation to the powers of prosecuting authorities.
At their meeting, the LOZ representatives presented their view of the system of financing and redistribution of public resources in the health-care sector, its efficiency and economy. "We agreed on the need to speak openly about this issue, which has an immediate impact on citizens' rights related to health-care provision. From the perspective of protecting the public interest, there's a need to insist on transparency and legality in the procedures and decisions of all relevant entities as a necessary prerequisite for increasing the quality of services in an area that concerns us all," stated Zilinka.
