Oil Product on Fire at Slovnaft Refinery, No Danger to Locals

Bratislava, 7 August (TASR) - A stored oil product caught fire at the Bratislava-based Slovnaft refinery on Friday, Lucia Corbova of the refinery informed TASR on the same day, adding that there is no immediate danger to local residents. Firefighters are gradually bringing the situation under control. "Shortly after noon, one of the oil-product storage tanks on Slovnaft's premises was damaged. This caused the stored product to catch fire. The company's fire and rescue unit is currently responding to the incident. No injuries have been reported, and the firefighters are gradually bringing the fire under control. There is no immediate risk to surrounding city districts or local residents," said Corbova. ko/df
