Stats: Industrial Producer Prices Up 3.5 percent Y-o-Y in June 2026

Bratislava, 28 July (TASR) - Industrial producer prices for the domestic market rose by 3.5 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in June 2026, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday, adding that this was the fastest growth recorded in the past three months. As many as 13 of the 16 monitored branches of industry posted price increases in June. The price growth was driven in particular by the production of coke and oil products (up 33.4 percent), the production of chemicals (11.2 percent) and the production of electric appliances (10.8 percent). Production in the energy sector, which has substantial weight in terms of market share, rose by 6.1 percent. Conversely, price decreases were reported in food production, in the manufacture of machinery and equipment and in the manufacture of computer products. In the first six months of 2026, meanwhile, industrial producer prices were 1 percent higher than the year before, while they went up by 1.1 percent in monthly terms. In June, the prices of industrial products for export were 4 percent higher than the year before, the most rapid growth seen so far this year. They also increased on a monthly basis, by 0.3 percent.
