Bratislava, 26 July (TASR) - Slovakia's membership of the European Union (EU) doesn't call into question its sovereignty in cultural and ethical matters, so we see no reason to amend the section of the Constitution which states that, in matters of values and ethics, domestic law should take precedence over EU law, the opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) said on Sunday in response to the statement made by MP Maria Kolikova (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) earlier in the day that the primacy of European law should apply here, given that we are part of the EU.
