President Pellegrini to Travel to China This Evening; Invited by Xi Jinping

Bratislava, 26 July (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini is scheduled to leave for China on Sunday evening, the President's Office told TASR on Sunday, adding that the three-day state visit is taking place at the invitation of Chinese head of state Xi Jinping. Pellegrini will also meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. The Slovak president's itinerary for the trip also includes visits to major technology centres. "The official talks between the presidents will focus on the further development of Slovak-Chinese relations, economic cooperation and current international issues. ... Discussions with Chinese officials will also cover support for high value-added investment and the development of cooperation in science and research, industry, transport, logistics, agriculture and tourism," stated the office. Pellegrini will also visit major technology centres, including, for example, Baidu, which is one of the world's leading companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and autonomous mobility. The programme will also involve a tour of Robot Mall, the world's first centre dedicated to the presentation and commercial use of humanoid robots. am
