Bratislava, 23 July (TASR) - The Arts Support Fund (FPU) Council will be led by its vice-chair Lubomir Klestinec until a new chair is elected.
"The election of the new chair will be held at the Council's next meeting scheduled for 12 August," FPU acting director Frantisek Kornaj has told TASR.
Kornaj also confirmed that now former FPU Council chair Matus Olha resigned from the post as of 23 July. "He'll remain a Council member and will participate in its work," said Kornaj.
He also stressed that the change in the Council's leadership won't affect how the fund operates. "Announced calls, ongoing assessments and the payment of approved funding won't be affected by this change. FPU continues to carry out its mission in full," said Kornaj.
Matus Olha decided to step down as FPU Council chair earlier on Thursday. He stated that his decision was prompted by what he described as "a sustained media lynching" that he was no longer willing to endure.
