Bratislava, 17 July (TASR) - The Health Ministry is expanding access to treatment for patients in Slovakia, with 50 drugs for 55 medical conditions having undergone the categorisation process since August 2025, the Health Ministry's communications department told TASR on Friday, adding that this has expanded treatment options in oncology, haematology, neurology, rheumatology, dermatology, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, and gastroenterology. The newly included drugs involve long-awaited treatment options for patients with rare diseases for which no categorised treatment had previously been available under the public health-insurance system. "We are moving the entire system toward greater efficiency, which primarily benefits Slovak patients in the form of medications that were previously unavailable in our country and for which they often waited years," said Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD). am/df
