Bratislava, 15 July (TASR) - Low-income households showed great interest in the first round of the 'Renew the House Mini Plus' call for applications, with the limit of 5,000 applications being reached in 45 minutes, TASR was told by the Environment Ministry's communications department on Wednesday. A total of €186 million from the Modernisation Fund has been allocated to the call over a two-year period. The Slovak Environment Agency (SAZP) is also preparing the second round of the 'Renew the House Mini Plus' call, which it plans to announce in mid-September. SAZP is currently beginning the process of reviewing and evaluating the received applications. Once the conditions are met, successful applicants will gradually receive grant approval decisions, contracts, and advance payments of up to €5,500. "I'm delighted by the extraordinary interest shown by Slovak households in the 'Renew the House Mini Plus' scheme. Five thousand applications were submitted in less than an hour, and our information systems and website handled the extreme traffic without any outages. This confirms that the call's parameters are designed for people who can use the €11,000 grant to modernise their homes and lower their energy bills. For the first time, we're also allowing applicants to replace their roofing," emphasised Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee). am
