Bratislava, 8 July (TASR) - Slovakia's exports increased by 2.3 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €9.6 billion in May 2026, while imports rose by 1.7 percent to €9.1 billion, with the y-o-y growth rate of exports exceeding that of imports for the third consecutive month, according to preliminary data published by the Statistics Office on Wednesday. Slovakia thus posted a trade balance surplus of €580.6 million in May, up €58.8 million from the same period in 2025 and the highest since June 2023. NOTE: This story will be extended. jrg
