Bratislava, 4 July (TASR) - The so-far course of Saturday's referendum is calm, everything is running smoothly, State Electoral Commission chairman Eduard Burda told a news conference on Saturday. Burda noted that one polling station in the village of Blhovce near Rimavska Sobota (Banska Bystrica region) opened 30 minutes later than scheduled. Therefore, voting there will be possible until 10.30 p.m. "From the viewpoint of security and ensuring the smooth conduct of the vote, everything is proceeding without any problems," said Police Corps Vice-president Rastislav Polakovic. According to him, only one case in Liptovsky Mikulas (Zilina region) was reported, where a voter wanted to cast a ballot in the referendum using a passport, but wasn't allowed to do so. Martin Gajdos, the head of the Interior Ministry's Elections, Referendum and Political Parties Section noted that no major incidents have been reported and that everything goes smoothly. ko
