Godollo/Bratislava, 23 June (TASR-correspondent) - The countries of the Visegrad Group (V4: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) are wise enough to put forward only those issues that unite them, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico declared on Tuesday after a meeting of V4 prime ministers in the Hungarian town of Godollo, TASR's special correspondent in Budapest reported on the same day.
Fico also pledged that, during Slovakia's upcoming presidency of the V4, it will refrain from raising issues that could divide the grouping.
"We were very strong. We want to be very strong again. The four countries that make up the V4 must have such an ambition," Fico said, adding that Slovakia's one-year V4 presidency, beginning as of 1 July, comes at a challenging time.
According to the Slovak prime minister, the informal meeting held before the plenary session demonstrated the serious challenges the V4 must address in virtually every part of the world.
"On behalf of the entire V4, I want to say that we do not want to be merely the object of decisions. We want to be co-creators of those decisions," Fico emphasised.
