Bratislava, 22 June (TASR) - The National Highway Company (NDS) has announced a public tender for the repair of cement-concrete road surfaces under its management throughout Slovakia, the motorway authority announced in the Public Procurement Office's bulletin, setting the deadline for submitting bids as 20 July. Over the next four years, it expects to spend nearly €4.8 million, excluding value-added tax (VAT), on this work. "The subject of the contract is the repair of cement-concrete road surfaces by replacing degraded sections of the road with the aim of restoring the road's operational capability," stated the NDS. The work will include maintaining the road surfaces with an impregnating spray to extend their service life, as well as repairing transverse and longitudinal joints and cracks on these road surfaces. "Bidders' proposals will be evaluated based on the lowest price for the entire scope of the contract," stated NDS. NDS is currently also procuring repairs to asphalt road surfaces on motorways and expressways via nine separate tenders. The total estimated cost of these contracts over three years amounts to €42.6 million, ex-VAT. am/mcs
