Bratislava, 16 June (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini is set to begin on Thursday (18 June) the second round of training with the National Defence Forces (NOS), which will last 14 days at the Turecky Vrch military training area in Bratislava region, TASR was told by the President's Office's communications department on Tuesday.
During the second phase, the head of state, along with other members of the National Defence Forces, will expand on the skills and knowledge they acquired during basic training and subsequent advanced training designed for operational and emergency reserves. The president completed this training directly at the 91st Engineer Regiment in Sered (Trnava region) after being assigned to the operational reserves.
"In the second phase, participants will further develop the tactical and marksmanship skills they have acquired, as well as their first-aid training and other specialised disciplines, under the guidance of instructors from the Slovak Armed Forces, including the final 'survival' exercise," stated the communications department.
Since the beginning, the president has been supporting the National Defence Forces project and the voluntary participation of Slovak citizens in the defence and security of the state. He was one of the first to sign up for the pilot session of the first round of training in July of last year.
