Two Men Detained after Petrol Station Shooting in Trencin

Trencin, 16 June (TASR) - Police have detained two men aged 34 and 20 with respect to Monday's (15 June) shooting incident at a petrol station in Trencin, with the circumstances of the incident remaining under investigation, regional police spokesperson Ingrid Krajcikova told TASR on Tuesday. The shooting, which targeted the entrance door of the petrol station building, occurred in the early hours of Monday morning. "Officers from the criminal police department of the Regional and District Directorates of the Police Force in Trencin carried out extensive operational, search and investigative activities. Based on intensive inquiries and the evidence gathered, they were able within a short time to identify and subsequently detain two men aged 34 and 20 suspected of committing the offence," said Krajcikova. According to Krajcikova, an investigator from the criminal police department is carrying out the necessary procedural steps and examining all circumstances of the case. "Given the ongoing investigation, it isn't possible at present to provide further details in order not to compromise the proceedings. We'll release additional information as soon as the procedural situation allows," she added. mf/df
