Bratislava, 15 June (TASR) - The opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party is calling for greater transparency in the selection of members of supervisory boards and management boards at state-owned enterprises, PS representatives declared at a press conference on Monday. The demand follows findings published by news website Aktuality.sk, according to which the son of Jan Richter, chair of the parliamentary caucus of the governing Smer-SD party, is serving on the management board of state oil transporter Transpetrol. PS representatives questioned his qualifications for the post. "When we have state-owned enterprises under our control, we'll publish a code of ethics setting out how people are hired, how conflicts of interest are declared and how individuals are selected for supervisory boards and management boards," said PS MP Ivan Stefanek. Stefanek underlined the importance of such posts and the influence exercised by the people serving in them. The opposition 'Slovakia' party also pointed on Monday to the reported role of Richter's son as a member of Transpetrol's management board, raising concerns about possible nepotism. mf/df
