Bratislava, 5 June (TASR) - The Agriculture Payment Agency (PPA), together with the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry, has for the second consecutive year offered food producers the opportunity to apply for support for their marketing activities, and although €3 million has been allocated under the scheme, demand from food producers has reached €4.6 million, the agency reported on Friday. "Supporting high-quality Slovak food products brought to the tables of Slovak consumers by our food producers also means supporting their marketing activities. These activities help to raise awareness among end consumers. Interest in this support is enormous, with food producers requesting €4.6 million under this call. This also shows that this type of support, which I introduced for food producers last year, is highly meaningful," said Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD). As of 31 May 2026, PPA closed the 'Marketing Support in the Food Industry' aid scheme. Applicants had from 1 May to seek reimbursement for marketing activities carried out during the previous calendar year. Eligible costs were those incurred between 1 May 2025 and 30 April 2026. "A total of 166 applications were submitted through the ITMS2014+ system under the marketing support call. Following the evaluation of applications, we'll proceed with the payments," said PPA general director Marek Cepko. mf/df
