Finland's Patria Completes Delivery of Armoured Ambulances Intended for Slovakia

Helsinki, 4 June TASR) - Finnish defence provider Patria has completed the deliveries of Patria AMV XP 8x8 armoured ambulances to Slovakia, TASR learnt from Patria's press release on Thursday. The final batch was handed over last week in the village of Lieskovec in Banska Bystrica region. The ten ambulances are part of a comprehensive government-to-government (G2G) agreement signed in 2022 by the Slovak government, the government of Finland and Patria for Slovakia to acquire of 76 armoured combat vehicles (ACVs), comprising 60 infantry fighting vehicles, ten ambulances and six command post vehicles. "The completion of these ambulance deliveries is an important milestone in our cooperation. The programme supports the development of modern mobility and defence capabilities while also advancing technology transfer and know-how to Slovakia, strengthening local industrial capability, security of supply and long-term readiness," stated executive vice-president of Patria's Protected Mobility business area Jussi Jarvinen. Patria further stated that technology transfer is a central part of its business model, via which armoured vehicle manufacturing expertise is transferred to local partners. "This improves the security of supply, strengthens Slovakia's own industry, and provides a strategic competitive advantage. Patria AMV XP 8x8 is a market leading, state-of-the-art, modular and robust armoured vehicle providing superior fire power, protection and mobility," said the Finnish company. am/df
