Bratislava, 4 June (TASR) - MPs are due to debate a motion to dismiss Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) on Tuesday (9 June), the Parliament Office's communications department told TASR on Thursday, adding that House Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) has convened a special session on the ouster for 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The no-confidence motion was initiated by opposition MPs from the Christian Democrats (KDH), 'Slovakia' and Progressive Slovakia (PS) parties. They criticised the head of the Education Ministry for the failure of the new electronic ePrihlaska (eApplication) system. According to them, the system is conceptually flawed, unnecessary, expensive and untested. In response, the ministry stated that the implementation of a large-scale system is not without errors and it is fair to say so openly, but it sees no reason to sensationalise these errors for political gain.
