Martin, 3 June (TASR) - Wia Slovakia, a member of the Hyundai Wia group, plans to create 410 new jobs in Martin (Zilina region) in the next few years, the municipality has posted on social media following talks held between company representatives and the leadership of Martin town council. The investor will build a new plant in the industrial area of a former company called Ecco Slovakia, which it bought in late March. "The company should employ some 140 people as early as in 2026, with another 110 jobs added later. The full development of the plant should create a total of 410 jobs by the end of 2030," stated the town council. It added that company representatives presented their investment plans, the production development schedule and personnel plans during the meeting. "Hyundai Wia will specialise in producing technologically demanding systems and components for the automotive industry, which are among products with high-added value and are used in modern vehicles," said the town hall. Wia Slovakia has already submitted its investment plan for an environmental impact assessment. In it, the company specified that the Martin plant will specialise in producing and assembling driveshafts with constant velocity joints and cooling modules for electric vehicles. The total costs are estimated at some €13 million, with a substantial portion going to technological equipment. ko/df
