Krivan/Bratislava, 29 May (TASR) - MP Roman Malatinec (independent) will run for the post of the Banska Bystrica regional governor in the autumn local elections, standing for the extra-parliamentary Rural Party, where he serves as vice-chair. Malatinec announced the decision at a Friday press conference in the village of Krivan together with Rural Party chair and Tourism Minister Rudolf Huliak (independent). According to Malatinec, the Banska Bystrica region has great potential, but it needs to be returned to ordinary people. "A good tree is known by its fruit, a good regional governor is known by satisfied people. Since I am meeting fewer and fewer satisfied people and, on the contrary, more and more dissatisfied ones, I have decided to fight as a candidate for governor of the Banska Bystrica region," Malatinec declared. mf
