Police Detain Eight in 'Overlord' Economic Crime Operation

Nitra, 28 May (TASR) - An investigator from the criminal police department of Nitra region police has launched criminal proceedings on the suspicion of economic crime, linked to a police operation codenamed Overlord, said Nitra police spokesperson Tomas Havetta on Thursday. As part of the operation, the police carried out five house raids and two searches of non-residential premises in Kosice Region. A total of eight people were detained. Given the ongoing procedural and evidence-securing activities, the police won't comment on their identities or further details of the case at this stage, said Havetta. mf/df
