Gov't to Deal with Situation in Region and Referendum at Session in Haniska

Bratislava, 27 May (TASR) - The government will hold an away-from-home session in the eastern-Slovak village of Haniska in the district of Kosice-okolie (Kosice region) on Wednesday, with a focus on analysing the socio-economic situation in the districts of Kosice-okolie, Spisska Nova Ves and Gelnica.
"The development of the Valaliky strategic industrial park and the investment by Volvo Cars, one of the most significant investments in Slovakia in recent years, will be high on the agenda of the session," said the Government Office.
The ministers will also discuss a report on the causes, course and aftermath of floods that occurred in Slovakia between July and December 2025. According to the report prepared by the Environment Ministry, the floods caused damage amounting to almost €5.5 million.
The cabinet will also deal with a draft schedule for the organisational and technical support of the referendum announced for Saturday, 4 July. The Interior Ministry estimates that more than €12 million will be needed to ensure the conduct of the vote and to process its results.
