Bratislava, 25 May (TASR) - Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) is scheduled to meet on Tuesday (26 May) ambassadors from African countries accredited to Slovakia to mark Africa Day, which the international community commemorates annually on 25 May, TASR was told by the Foreign Ministry's communications department on Monday.
"Africa is an important partner for Slovakia with growing economic and geopolitical significance. Our goal is to build modern and mutually beneficial partnerships based on respect, political dialogue, trade, and specific joint projects. This is also why we're strengthening Slovakia's presence and opening new diplomatic missions in Algeria, Ethiopia, and Tanzania," said Blanar.
The minister will discuss with the ambassadors primarily the strengthening of political and trade-investment relations as well as development cooperation. At the same time, they will discuss opportunities for sharing Slovak expertise in the areas of water management, sustainable development, and climate adaptation.
