Kosice, 22 May (TASR) - Former Czech president and premier Milos Zeman visited the city of Kosice on Friday at the invitation of former Slovak head of state and Kosice mayor Rudolf Schuster. Zeman's itinerary included a tour of St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, a meeting with Kosice Archbishop Bernard Bober and a visit to the Presidential Library at the East Slovak Gallery. The programme also featured the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the area between the cathedral and St. Michael's Chapel. The ex-presidents were welcomed in front of the Gothic cathedral by the leadership of the city of Kosice - vice-mayors Marcel Giboda and Lucia Gurbalova. "During their walk down Main Street, they made sure to stop at the iconic Singing Fountain, which played Bedrich Smetana's famous symphony 'The Moldau' for the occasion. At the end, the former presidents signed the Kosice city chronicle at the Old Town Hall," reported Kosice city hall. am/df
