Bratislava, 20 May (TASR) - The government will deal with the first part of its package of measures aimed at supporting economic growth only after a tripartite meeting, said Labour Minister Erik Tomas (Voice-SD) following the cabinet session on Wednesday.
"As the tripartite chairman, I have thus kept the promise that I made to the social partners, and I'm also very pleased that this process will be maintained in this way," said Tomas. According to the minister, the Government Office sent a draft package of pro-growth measures to all the social partners on Tuesday (19 May), including those who are members of the tripartite, as well as other entities that aren't part of it. So, the first part of the package of pro-growth measures has been available to the social partners since yesterday evening, and we'll discuss this package at the tripartite meeting," added Tomas.
According to Tomas, the Economic and Social Council (tripartite) should meet on Monday (25 May) or the following day, depending on when the government sits. He stressed that there won't be any measures in this package that will negatively affect employees, specifically mentioning the proposed shortening of lunch breaks, scrapping of holiday vouchers and extension of employment trial periods.
