Blanar Leaves for Working Visit to Finland, Will Meet Head of Diplomacy

Bratislava, 20 May (TASR) - Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) left for a working visit to Finland on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday, the head of Slovak diplomacy will meet Finnish Foreign Affairs Minister Elina Valtonen in Helsinki. He is also scheduled to hold talks with Johannes Koskinen, who chairs the Finnish Parliament's foreign affairs committee. "The partners will discuss the further strengthening of Slovak–Finnish relations, as well as current European and foreign policy issues," said the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry. On Thursday (21 May), the minister will open a Honorary Slovak Consulate in the Finnish city of Tampere. He's also due to discuss opportunities for developing economic cooperation, innovation and investment with representatives of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce. After visiting Finland, Blanar will travel to Sweden, where he's slated to attend a meeting of foreign ministers of NATO-member states in the Swedish city of Helsingborg on Friday (22 May). ko
