Bratislava, 18 May (TASR) - Voice-SD leader and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok has expressed his support for MEP Branislav Ondrus, who intends to run for the post of Trade Union Confederation (KOZ) president. He did so at a news conference on Monday in reaction to a journalist's question concerning Ondrus's departure from the party. According to the Voice-SD leader, Ondrus wants to demonstrate that as a potential future KOZ president he would act in a non-political and non-partisan manner. "I have therefore accepted his decision that, although we remain aligned in terms of ideas, values and personally, he wants to separate his candidacy from any political pressure. That's why he'll run as an independent," said Sutaj Estok. The MEP announced his intention to run for the KOZ president post in a discussion show broadcast by public-service STVR on Sunday (17 May). He also stated that he'd already left the Voice-SD party in connection with his candidacy. ko/df
