Judicial Council Announces Election for Candidate for EU Court of Justice Judge

Bratislava, 11 May (TASR) - Chairwoman of the Judicial Council Marcela Kosova announced on Monday that an election for a candidate for judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union will be held on 11 August, the Judicial Council's Office has reported on its website, adding that those eligible to do so have until 11 June to submit their nominations. The term of office of the current Slovak representative at the Court of Justice, Miroslav Gavalec, will end in 2027. He's held the post since 7 October 2021. A candidate to serve as judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union in the future must meet the requirements set out by the Slovak legal system. am/df
