Stats: Salaries Up Y-o-Y in All Sectors in March 2026

Bratislava, 11 May (TASR) - Average nominal monthly salaries increased year-on-year (y-o-y) in all of the ten sectors monitored in March 2026, with the increases ranging from 2.3 percent in the information and communications sector to 7.7 percent in the sale and repair of motor vehicles, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Nine of the ten sectors also saw rises in real salaries (adjusted for inflation), ranging from 0.3 percent in accommodation to 4.1 percent in the sale and repair of motor vehicles. The sectors of wholesale, transport and warehousing, and construction posted a higher growth rate of more than 3 percent, while in industry, the key sector with the biggest number of employees, real salaries rose by 2.5 percent y-o-y. Conversely, the information and communications sector saw a 1.2-percent decline in real salaries. For the first three months of 2026, nominal salaries increased in nine of the ten monitored sectors, while real salaries rose in seven of them, ranging from a 5-percent decline in the information and communications sector to a 2.9-percent increase in the construction sector. jrg
