Bratislava, 9 May (TASR) - The first regular flights with holidaymakers heading to the Turkish resort of Antalya, the most popular destination for tourists wishing to fly from the Slovak capital, are now departing from M.R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava (BTS), TASR has learnt from BTS spokesperson Veronika Demovicova. A new carrier called SunExpress Airlines launched regular flights from Bratislava to Antalya on 30 April, while Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines started to operate direct flights to this destination on 2 May. Regular flights with both carriers can be used during the summer flight season (until the end of October) by individual passengers, who can purchase tickets on their own via the airlines' websites, the airport's website, or through ticket agents. "In addition to direct flights to Istanbul, Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines has resumed flights to Antalya as of 2 May, offering them twice a week, then three times a week as of the end of May," said Demovicova. The Turkish SunExpress Airlines is returning to Bratislava after a gap of 11 years; it last operated flights for travel agencies in the summer of 2015. It will fly from Bratislava to Antalya twice a week, and from the end of May three times a week, using Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. "In addition to regular flights, flights from Bratislava to Antalya are also planned based on orders from travel agencies, so-called charter flights, with carriers such as Smartwings, Corendon Airlines, Mavi Gok Airlines and Freebird Airlines," added the BTS spokesperson. ko/df
