Premier Fico Arrives at Kremlin, Doesn't Attend Military Parade on Red Square

Moscow/Bratislava, 9 May (TASR) - Slovak Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) arrived at the Kremlin on Saturday morning for the Victory Day celebrations. However, he didn't attend a military parade on Moscow's Red Square, TASR has reported based on a story published by the TASS agency. The convoy of vehicles carrying Fico arrived in front of the Kremlin building, where he was welcomed by a guard of honour and an orchestra. A red carpet was also rolled out in his honour. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Slovak premier could pass on messages from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Russian head of state. Shortly after arriving in Moscow on Friday (8 May), Fico laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden. He is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin later on Saturday. ko
