Police Taking Action against Serious Violent Crime in Eastern Slovakia

Bratislava, 5 May (TASR) - The anti-crime unit of the Police Corps' Office for Combating Organised Crime (UBOK) has been carrying out an operation codenamed 'Brother' in eastern Slovakia since the early hours of Tuesday, targeting serious violent crime, spokesman for the Police Corps Presidium Roman Hajek told TASR on the same day, adding that several people have been detained. "We are currently taking necessary procedural steps, including several house and other searches, in order to secure evidence important for criminal proceedings," said Hajek. Given the ongoing actions and in order not to thwart the further course of the investigation, it's impossible to provide any more details at the moment, he added. ko
