Nine People Injured After Bus Crash in Central Slovakia

Dobra Niva/Bratislava, 3 May (TASR) - A bus crash in the village of Dobra Niva (Banska Bystrica region) on Sunday left nine people with minor injuries, TASR learnt from spokesperson of the Banska Bystrica police Nikola Zabkova on the same day. The bus was travelling on an optional tour from Croatia to Poland. The accident occurred on Sunday morning on a main road in Dobra Niva. The bus left the roadway and subsequently overturned. "According to available information, passengers of Hungarian, Polish, Ukrainian and Slovak nationalities were on board," Zabkova said. Following the accident, nine people with minor injuries were transported to hospitals. Air rescue services also intervened at the scene, taking into care a 27-year-old woman of Polish nationality. "With minor injuries, she was airlifted to hospital in Banska Bystrica," stated Zuzana Hopjakova, the spokesperson for the Air Transport Europe helicopter emergency medical service. Police continue to document the accident at the scene, and the I/66 road remains partially passable. "The cause and circumstances of the accident remain under investigation," Zabkova added. mf
